This promotion is to give more opportunities to those who aspire to conquer Mount Kinabalu during your stay in Sabah. The majestic Mount Kinabalu, one of the highest mountains in South East Asia standing at 4095.2 metres located inside the world heritage site, Kinabalu National Park. To reach the summit from Timpohon Gate (Starting point), climbes will be trekking through 6 kilometers of trail composed by wooden staircase and nature trail up to Laban Rata Resthouse on 1st day and continue another 2.7 kilometers journey toward the summit on 2nd day.

The part of the summit trail was newly introduced starting December 1, which is called Ranau Trail. It is said to offer more fascinating breathtaking views along the way as we walk on the ridge. While you do not need special skills to climb, you must at least have the basic fitness level.

ACCOMMODATION INFO:

  • Accmmodation is based on Non-Heated Dormitory Bunk-bed with sharing bathroom & toilet
  • Check in time at Laban Rata is 1300hrs and check out time is 1030hrs the following day
  • An additional charge of RM100.00 per hour will be imposed for any check out later than 1030hrs
  • Water at Laban Rata is not treated. For safe drinking water, bottled water is available for sale at Laban Rata shop.
  • Laban Rata would carry out water-rationing without prior notice due to water shotage during draught season.

TRANSPORTATION / SERVICES INFO:

  • All transportation services are on sharing basis.
  • Return transfer (Kota Kinabalu-Kinabalu Park) will be done by guide cum driver.

Itinerary


Day 01 KOTA KINABALU – KINABALU PARK – MOUNTAIN HUT (L/D)
0630-0730 Meet your guide at you hotel/hostel (or designated meeting point) and depart to Kinabalu Park
0900 Arrive at Kinabalu Park.
Guide will arrange all necesarry registeration and assign you a mountain guide (Shared with other guests).
* Porter fee(RM130/10kg), luggage keeping fee (RM12/luggage) at Park HQ will be paid by guest's own account
1000 Transferred from Park HQ to Timpohon Gate (Starting point/1,892m)
Start hiking up to Laban Rata Resthouse ( 3,353m). It takes approximately 4-6hours.
1500 Arrive at Laban Rate Resthouse and check in
Have a dinner at Laban Rata Resthouse
Go to bed and take enough rest

Day 02 MOUNTAIN HUT – SUMMIT – MOUNTAIN HUT – KINABALU PARK – KOTA KINABALU (S/B/L)
Wake up for early supper.
0230 Start the journey toward the summit of Mt. Kinabalu (4095.2m). It takes apporoximately 3hours.
0600 Reach the summit and catch the sunrise * Subject to weather condition.
Descend to Laban Rata Resthouse.
Arrive at Laban Rata Resthouse and have a late breakfast.
1000 Trek down to Timpohon gate.
1300-1500 Arrive at Timpohon gate and transferred back to Park HQ.
Arrive at Park HQ to collect certificate and enjoy a buffet lunch at Balsam Restaurant/
(Buffet lunch would be converted to packed lunch for clients who arrive late.)
Meet with your guide and depart to Kota Kinabalu. It takes approximately 2-3hours.
Arrive at your hotel/hostel (or requested drop-off point) in Kota Kinabalu.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • Please be informed that your passport is required for verification during registration at Kinabalu Park.
  • Please don’t forget to wear your ID Tag provided from your guide at Park HQ while you are on the trail.
  • Climbers who reached Timpohon Gate after 1600hrs, a fee of RM15.00 per hour/guide is chargeable and to be paid directly to the mountain guide on the spot.
  • Taking a flight on the same day you descend the mountain is not recommendable due to possible delay from traffic and weather conditions.
  • All transportation services are on sharing basis.
